Putting An Outfit Together
When it comes to fashion, it can be tempting to throw on an old hoodie with leggings everyday (something which even I am guilty of) but when it comes down to it, fahsion is something that can be fun to explore and experiment with. Yes, it gets stressful at times when an outfit doesn't look quite as good on you as you'd pictured in your head, but having fun with it and realising that it's all just a bit of fun really helps lighten the mood..
The main body of my outfit on this day was a dress- which can be leave you very limited with how to style it- after all it's a dress. What is there to do to it other than throwing on a jacket? Well the answer is very simple. Accessories. Throw on some patterned tights and a cute hat and you have a killer outfit for the day.
Another element which can make or break an outfit is the makeup. I'm the first to admit that i'm just awful at doing my makeup- I rarely wear a full face either, but having fun with the different products you use and which colours of eyeshadow match your clothes on a particular day creates a nice contrast without being too bold or noticeable.
For this look, I paired a bodycon stripy dress with a faux fur coat. The monochrome dress meant that pretty much any jacket would have looked cute with it- but I decided a neutral one was my best bet. I also wore a plain black beret- which although cute- meant my outfit could have done with just a pop of colour to bring the whole look together. This is where my bag came in. Although not practical for a day out in London, it was of perfect size for my trip out for a few hours.
